POETRY POSSESSED
Excited I entered Ready for an evening's delights To the right side of the stage In the twinkling lights From the dark corner Radiance Bursting bright Your smile carried my world Eyes flashing rhythmically What a beautiful sight I stared in outright disbelief You caught me then And locking your eyes Prisoner in deep I possessed no bribes No words or other gifts Shiftless I stared Content Simply to have your brief intent To look into your smiling eyes And watch you dance Beautifully My evening's delightful surprise Prisoner in stranger's deep eyes Excited I awoke Afterthoughts of night Carried hazed memories Jailor's eyes and mine Looking of a prison key Entering unaware I catch a glimpse Of this beautiful girl Lovely long hair cascading Flooding her face delicately Hiding her features from me Obliviously I find my jailor's eye Immediate release A desire to meet you Chance myself again I knew you were The same midnight maiden But having to ask My excuse to bask Enraptured in capture No desire for escape You broke the moment Having to finish work I fell back into myself To find you Had stolen my heart ~ DBrown Fisher © April 1999
