POETRY JUNIOR HIGH BASEMENT
Women dressed in barbarian flesh Half naked with beasts at their feet In day-glow colors on black velvet Shining bright in the black lights Of a junior high basement Snickers and giggles uncomfortable Flashes innocence in eyes that shy And a bottle spins around inhibitions Do you remember when Comments delighted to fly Your heart skipped a beat Lost your breath in a thought Moments wondering if that other Lover might be caught In the simplest kiss A first time for your notions To swim in an ocean Possibilities caught in light The bottle points your way Truth or dare is your plight These moments are mountainous When a young heart is caught And now forces decisions Will it be action or thought? In tonight's spun discretions Of a junior high basement ~ DBrown Fisher © July 2003
