POETRY

GLORIETA

Sitting in the doorway of a palace
Placid movements of clouds
Gazing upon the overflowing chalice
Feeling what a moment allows

Opening of a heart
Concert up high
In a friend's girth
The flowing subsides
As I watch him drink
Draining the vessel
In outright disbelief
My mind unfurls

Can this cup overflow again
Is he returning with anew
The chalice glints his grin
And he hands me one too

Hesitantly I glance inside
A reflection of perfection
Slowly I gulp down the wine
Overflowing with intoxication
